Bryce Canyon is a such spectacular and unique National Park in Utah. It’s known for it’s orange-colored hoodoos, which are tall pillar-like rock formations that have developed over millions of years. In fact, Bryce has the largest collection of hoodoos in the entire world! It’s such a remarkable park and one of my favorite stops on my 5-day Ultimate Road Trip to Utah and Arizona. Here are my tips for hiking Wall Street and Queen’s Garden!

GETTING THERE

It’s an easy drive to get to Bryce and only 1.5 hours from Zion National Park. There is a lot of wildlife that cross the highway between Zion and Bryce, so be very cautious, especially when driving at night.

It costs $35 per vehicle to enter the park and the pass is good for one week. If you plan on visiting more National Parks, you can also purchase a National Parks Annual Pass at the entrance for $80.

For this hike, you will drive into the park to Sunset Point, where the trailhead is located. Sunset Point not far from the park entrance and has its own parking lot and restrooms.

DIFFICULTY

Wall Street and Queen’s Garden are both easy hikes as the entire trail is paved. However, there are some areas with loose dirt that is easy to slip on. Hiking Wall Street to Queen’s Garden is a loop trail, meaning you will start and end in the same location.

LENGTH & TIME

Wall Street and Queen’s Garden trail is a total of 3.2 miles. Expect to spend about 2-2.5 hours total at Bryce, including stopping for photos. You can spend more time there if you’d like to drive around within the park or do another hike.

TRAIL DETAILS

Start at Sunset point and follow signs to Navajo Loop. You’ll walk a few steps on Navajo Loop to Wall Street. This was my favorite part of the hike! The hoodoos are a deep orange in this part of the trail and stand tall and narrow along the walkway.

Starting your hike at Wall Street is key as the trail has several switchbacks at a steeper incline. If you start your hike at Wall Street, you will start from the top of the switchbacks and make your way down, which is much easier than if you ended your hike at Wall Street, where you’d have to hike up the switchbacks.

You will follow this trail for signs to Queen’s Garden. The great thing about this walk is that you are now towards the bottom of the canyon surrounded by trees. It’s the perfect way to see both parts of Bryce - the hoodoos and the open green area.

You’ll take Queen’s Garden to Sunrise Point, which is another lookout near the parking lot where you started. There is a walkway you can take from Sunrise Point back to your car at Sunset point.
