Don’t Miss It: Neon Blue Waves Off California Coast

Along the California coast from as far south as Baja up to Santa Barbara, you can see these fluorescent waves light up the night. Bioluminescent waves are caused by plankton in the water that turn a bright blue color when disturbed by movement. It’s a spectacle you truly have to see for yourself to believe. The best time to visit is said to be two hours after sunset. It’s unclear how long the algae will remain off the coast, so be sure to catch it before it’s gone.
